Security General Advices

  • If you receive a call offering you prizes, offers and sweeps from the BCR, and in addition they ask you for confidential data, as account numbers, balances, passwords, access keys, in order to give you the prize, hang the telephone immediately and verify the truth of this information in any of the BCR branches or call Customer Support Center at 2284-6600.
  • If you are going to destroy financial documentation, such as account statements or  vouchers, please destroy them totally.
  • Be sure to pick up your correspondence personaly in your physical mailing address, otherwise it can be used by third parties to perform illicit activities.
  • In case that any of our ATMs retain  your card, you must report it immediately to 2287-9000.
  • Remember to ignore any message in which you are asked, to type your key or password.
  • Never accept any help from strangers.

In your computer

  • Do not open any e-mails from unknown senders or evenif they are known, but the information is not awaited. Take care especially when it contains attachments, verifying with the sender, or in case of doubt, erase it immediately.
  • Take precautions with the instant e-mails, such as “chats”.  You must be aware of unwanted messages mainly with unknown addresses or attached documents.
  • Do not enter other sites or web pages while connected to the banking site.
  • Read carefully the error and warning messages, if you doubt, verify them with the BCR personnel.
  • If the children use the same computer in which you access the bank´s site, indicate and teach them not to download programs from the Internet and not to open e-mails with strange or mysterious attachments without your consent.
  • Before performing a transaction verify the account numbers and money amounts.
  • Verify your account statements and report the errors, if any.
  • When in the Virtual Branch does not distract yourself  in other activities. If necessary, block your computer, or shut it down.
  • When finishing your transactions, please press the disconnection button, in the right-uppermost part of the screen.
