What is the custody of values?

In a wide sense, we can understand by custody of values a series of specialized financial services, whose essential purposes are: the safeguard of titles physical and non-materialized securities, the opportune management of the patrimonial rights in favor of its owners and a suitable management of the risks, particularly for institutional investors, like pension and investment funds.

The bank custody gives solidity and solution to the market, it allows a more suitable management of the risks separating responsibilities, and promotes the effective specialization of the diverse participants of the market, favoring a development of long term. The banking nature of the custodies allows the clients the direct access to integrated services optimizing the handling of the resources. At the same time, when separating the intermediation and custody functions, the investors can centralize their custody in an organization, but operating with several Positions of Stock Market, facilitating in that case, the handling of the information.
