EXPORT AND IMPORT COLLECTION

The Collection is an international payment instrument that allows the exporter to instruct at his own risk and expense a foreign bank, which sends documents to the Banco de Costa Rica to act as a collector and process the payment to the importer.

For this service, it is required that the seller´s bank sends following documents to the Banco de Costa Rica:

• Bills of exchange at sight or term
• Sworn and signed commercial invoices
• Packing list
• Merchandise Insurance policy
• Health certificates
• Certificate of origin
• Bill of landing (sea, air or land).
• Others, depending on type and nature of goods
